We envision a resilient, inclusive, and thriving future for indigenous pastoral communities.

Our mission is to advance the resilience of indigenous pastoral communities through sustainable development, research-led advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive systems.

TIPD was founded by Geoffry Ariong, a passionate Indigenous rights advocate, to address the marginalization of the Turkana people and champion grassroots solutions rooted in Indigenous knowledge and leadership.

We use a bottom-up approach where the community—especially women, youth, and elders—play a central role in identifying needs, shaping programs, and evaluating outcomes to ensure relevance and sustainability.
