About TIPD
Turkana Indigenous People Development (TIPD) is a non-profit, community-based non-governmental organization located in northwestern Kenya. Established in 2019 and officially registered in 2023, TIPD is dedicated to safeguarding indigenous rights, fostering equitable development, and preserving the cultural heritage of the Turkana people. 80% of TIPD’s board of directors comprises indigenous individuals who possess extensive traditional knowledge, adhere to cultural norms, and are deeply committed to the preservation of Turkana culture and ancestral lands.
