What We Do.

Community Land Mapping & Registration
We support communities in mapping and documenting traditional lands to ensure formal recognition under Kenya’s Community Land Act. Legal Empowerment & Policy Engagement
We educate communities on land laws, rights, and dispute resolution, while advocating for policies that protect Indigenous land interests at local and national levels. Inclusive Governance Structures
TIPD facilitates the formation of inclusive, accountable land governance committees that include women, elders, youth, and persons with disabilities. Land Conflict Mediation
We help prevent and mediate land-related disputes by promoting dialogue, customary law integration, and cross-border cooperation. Strategic Partnerships
We collaborate with legal aid organizations, researchers, and government bodies to amplify Indigenous voices in land governance reforms.

Why It Matters.

For the Turkana people, land is not just an economic asset , it’s a source of identity, spirituality, and resilience. As development projects, extractive industries, and climate pressures intensify, protecting Indigenous land rights has become more urgent than ever. TIPD ensures communities are not left behind in decisions about the land they call home.
